Cathy Plocinik: Paralegal to Attorney Reese R. Boyd, III
Cathy Plocinik has been with Davis & Boyd since she moved to South Carolina, from Pennsylvania, in 2017. She has a Bachelor's in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration from Rutgers University and is a member of the Phi Alpha Alpha Honor Society for Public Administration. She spent 20 years as a litigation paralegal with Freedman and Lorry in Philadelphia, PA where she was also responsible for staff training and managing the firm’s ERISA litigation. She left the firm to start her own paralegal services firm but her interest in business development and employee management led to a career change when she became the Administrator for a large mental health agency where she developed new initiatives for the company including an employee recognition program, a health and wellness program, community events, staff and supervisor training programs, and a company safety committee. During her time as an Administrator, she became certified in collective bargaining mediation through the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Cathy’s spare time as a community activist and soccer coach have been supplanted by long walks on the beach and learning to play golf. Cathy lives with her husband, Ron, who is an operating room nurse and they have 4 adult children.
